وَتَكَلَّمَ ٱلشَّعْبُ عَلَى ٱللهِ وَعَلَى مُوسَى قَائِلِينَ: «لِمَاذَا أَصْعَدْتُمَانَا مِنْ مِصْرَ لِنَمُوتَ فِي ٱلْبَرِّيَّةِ؟ لِأَنَّهُ لَا خُبْزَ وَلَا مَاءَ، وَقَدْ كَرِهَتْ أَنْفُسُنَا ٱلطَّعَامَ ٱلسَّخِيفَ».
و قوم بر خدا و موسی شکایت آورده، گفتند: «که ما را از مصر چرا برآوردید تا در بیابان بمیریم؟ زیرا که نان نیست و آب هم نیست! و دل ما از این خوراک سخیف کراهت دارد!»
