فَقَالَ فِينْحَاسُ بْنُ أَلِعَازَارَ ٱلْكَاهِنِ لِبَنِي رَأُوبَيْنَ وَبَنِي جَادَ وَبَنِي مَنَسَّى: «ٱلْيَوْمَ عَلِمْنَا أَنَّ ٱلرَّبَّ بَيْنَنَا لِأَنَّكُمْ لَمْ تَخُونُوا ٱلرَّبَّ بِهَذِهِ ٱلْخِيَانَةِ. فَٱلْآنَ قَدْ أَنْقَذْتُمْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ مِنْ يَدِ ٱلرَّبِّ».
و فینحاس بن العازار کاهن به بنی روبین و بنی جاد و بنی منسی گفت: «امروز دانستیم که خداوند در میان ماست، چونکه این خیانت را بر خداوند نورزیدهاید، پس الان بنیاسرائیل را از دست خداوند خلاصی دادید.»
