Entonces Daniel, cuyo nombre era Beltsasar, estuvo estupefacto, sus pensamientos lo turbaron. El rey respondió y dijo: Beltsasar, no te preocupes por el sueño ni por el significado del mismo. Beltsasar, respondiendo, dijo: Mi señor, que el sueño sea sobre tus enemigos y su significado sobre aquellos que están en tu contra.

Pero Daniel, cuyo nombre es Beltsasar, quedó pasmado un buen rato, y sus pensamientos lo turbaron. Entonces el rey habló: Beltsasar, no te turbe el sueño ni su interpretación. Beltsasar respondió: ʼadón mío, sea este sueño para los que te aborrecen, y su interpretación para tus enemigos.
